Responsible gambling
A low minimum deposit lowers the price of getting started. It does not lower the risk. Casino games are built so that the house wins over time, and small deposits add up quickly when they are repeated.
Before you deposit
- Decide how much you can lose this week without it affecting rent, bills or food. That amount is your limit, not your starting point.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit.
- Treat any win as a bonus and withdraw it. Do not plan to pay for something with winnings.
- Never gamble with borrowed money, and do not try to win back what you have lost.
Signs it has stopped being entertainment
- You deposit again straight after losing, to get the money back.
- You spend more, or play longer, than you meant to.
- You hide how much you gamble from people close to you.
- You feel anxious or irritable when you cannot play.
- Gambling money comes out of what was meant for bills.
One of these is a reason to stop and take a break. Several of them are a reason to talk to someone.
Tools that help
- Limits inside the casino. Most sites let you set deposit, loss and session limits in your account settings, or through support.
- Cooling-off and self-exclusion. You can ask a casino to block your account for a set period or permanently.
- Bank blocks. Many Australian banks let you block gambling transactions on your card from their app.
- BetStop. The national self-exclusion register covers licensed Australian wagering providers. It does not cover the offshore casinos listed on this site, so use each casino's own self-exclusion as well.
Offshore casinos and your protections
The casinos on LowMin are licensed outside Australia. Australian regulators cannot make them pay a withdrawal or resolve a dispute for you. The Australian Communications and Media Authority publishes information on online gambling law and on checking a gambling operator. Keep deposits small and withdraw winnings as you go.
